                 MDS AUCTION SCHEDULE CHANGE, 
         900 MHz SMR AUCTION COMMENCEMENT DATE CHANGE,
 AND PCS C BLOCK AUCTION COMMENCEMENT AND BIDDING SEMINAR DATE
                   CHANGE DUE TO FCC SHUTDOWN
                                
This Public Notice announces changes to the Multipoint Distribution Service (MDS) auction
schedule, postponements of the 900 MHz Specialized Mobile Radio (SMR) service and the
Personal Communications Service (PCS) C Block auctions, and a new date for the PCS C
Block bidding seminar as a result of the government-wide shutdown last week.


MDS Auction Schedule Change

     Round two of the MDS auction will begin on Monday, November 27, 1995.  One
round of bidding will be conducted on Monday, November 27, 1995, and Tuesday, November
28, 1995.  The schedule for Monday and Tuesday will be as follows:

     10:00 a.m.  -  2:00 p.m. EST       Bid Submission Period
     2:00 p.m.   -  2:30 p.m. EST       Submission Round Results
     2:30 p.m.   -  3:00 p.m. EST       Bid Withdrawal Period
     3:00 p.m.   -  3:30 p.m. EST       Withdrawal Round Results

     The FCC will set the pace for the remainder of the auction based upon its monitoring
of the bidding and its assessment of the auction's progress.  The bidding schedule will be
announced via the Remote Bidding System and the FCC's bulletin board and Internet site.  See
pages 51-52 of the MDS Bidder Information Package for detailed Internet and BBS
instructions. 

     The MDS auction will close for a holiday recess at 5 p.m. EST on Friday, December
22, 1995.  The auction will resume on Wednesday, January 3, 1995.


Commencement of the 900 MHz SMR Auction Postponed

     The 900 MHz SMR auction will begin on Tuesday, December 5, 1995.  The precise
schedule for the 900 MHz SMR auction will be announced by Public Notice when qualified
bidders for the auction are announced.  The 900 MHz SMR auction will close for a holiday
recess at 5 p.m. EST on Friday, December 22, 1995.  The auction will resume on Thursday,
January 4, 1995.


Commencement of the PCS C Block Auction Postponed and Bidding Seminar Date Changed

     The PCS C Block auction will commence on Monday, December 18, 1995.  The
precise schedule for the auction will be announced at a later date by Public Notice.  The
auction will close for a holiday recess at 5 p.m. EST on Friday, December 22, 1995, and
resume on Friday, January 5, 1995.  Upfront payments and resubmissions of Form 175s will
be due on Friday, December 1, 1995.  The deadline for ordering the FCC Remote Bidding
Software is Wednesday December 6, 1995.

     The PCS C Block bidding seminar will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 1995,
from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., at the Sheraton City Centre, 1143 New Hampshire Ave. N.W.,
Washington, D.C.  Attendees who have already registered need not re-register for the newly
scheduled seminar.  Those who have not registered but would like to attend the seminar should
