This announcement contains important information for qualified bidders. In preparation for the Supplemental Closed Broadcast Auction, bidders should review the following: 1) The Qualified Bidder Public Notice titled, "Supplemental Closed Broadcast, Auction No. 28" released on March 9, 2000; (DA 00-527); 2) The Public Notice announcing the auction titled, "Supplemental Closed Broadcast Auction, Auction No. 28, Notice and Filing Requirements for Auction of certain AM,FM,LPTV, and TV Broadcast Construction Permits Scheduled for March 21,2000, Minimum Opening Bids and other Procedural Issues", released December 23, 1999 (DA 99-2958). 3) The Public Notice titled, "Supplemental Closed Broadcast Auction Scheduled for March 21, 2000, Comment Sought on Reserve Prices or Minimum Opening Bids and Other Auction Procedural Issues, released on November 19, 1999 (DA99-2594). All documents are available on the Internet at http://www.fcc.gov/wtb/auctions. We strongly encourage all bidders to read new auction announcements before bidding in each round. These announcements may contain information regarding a change in the activity rules, bidding schedule, etc. Access to these announcements is available through our Bidding System Software, and the Internet. To download auction announcements from the Internet, navigate to the directory named Auction 28 and select Announcements. The announcement files will use the following naming convention: aa_xxx.nnn where aa is the auction number, xxx is the round number and nnn is the announcement number for that round. For example, 28_002.001 would signify the first announcement for Auction 28 in the second round. Prior to the start of the auction, bidders should have in place a backup bidding strategy. Bidding software may be duplicated for use by authorized bidders at alternate bidding locations. Bidders have the option to have multiple machines active but should only bid from one machine at a time. Additionally, all qualified bidders have been supplied with a telephonic bidding phone number in their registration materials. Round results for the current FCC Auction can be accessed via the Internet on the FCC's Auction Page. To provide increased convenience, you can also obtain the round results from a touch-tone phone, using our Automated Round Results System. You will need to know the name of the MX group you want, such as SST10 or PST1. Bidders are also reminded to keep their Auction Messages application open to ensure important FCC messages are received in a timely manner.
