November 13, 1995 ELECTRONIC FILING ACCESS CLOSED, MDS AUCTION SCHEDULE CHANGE, 900 MHZ SMR AUCTION COMMENCEMENT DATE CHANGE, AND PCS C BLOCK BIDDING SEMINAR DATE CHANGE DUE TO FCC SHUTDOWN This Public Notice announces changes to the Multipoint Distribution Service (MDS) auction schedule, a postponement of the commencement of the 900 MHZ Specialized Mobile Radio (SMR) service auction, and a change of date for the Personal Communications Service (PCS) C Block bidding seminar due to a government-wide shutdown resulting from a lapse in FCC appropriations as of 11:59 P.M., November 13, 1995. During a government shutdown, electronic filers for all auctions will not be able to access any of the Commission's databases and will not be able to make modifications to their applications. MDS Auction Schedule Change In the event of a government-wide shutdown, Round 2 of the MDS auction will begin no earlier than three working days after the resumption of normal government operations. The precise schedule for Round 2 will be announced after the resumption of normal government operations by Public Notice and will be available on the Internet, FCC Bulletin Board System (BBS), and auction announcements of the auction wide-area network. 900 MHZ SMR Commencement Postponed In the event of a government-wide shutdown, the 900 MHZ SMR auction will begin no earlier than three working days after November 28, 1995 (i.e., December 4, 1995). The precise schedule for the 900 MHZ SMR auction will be announced after the resumption of normal government operations by Public Notice and will be available on the Internet and FCC BBS. PCS C Block Bidding Seminar Date Change In the event of a government-wide shutdown on November 14 and 15, 1995, the PCS C Block bidding seminar scheduled for 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 1995 at the Sheraton City Centre, 1143 New Hampshire Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C., will be held as scheduled. In the event the government is not operating on Thursday, November 16, 1995, the PCS C Block bidding seminar will be postponed, and notice of a rescheduled date will be made via Public Notice, the Internet and the FCC BBS.
